I TRIED TO TAKE CARE OF HER...I COULDN’T DO IT!

Families we can help with your long term are decisions. Here's how...

Nursing Home Families

I TRIED TO TAKE CARE OF HER...I COULDN’T DO IT!

How many times have I heard this in my career? It’s always heart wrenching to see a daughter or a son sobbing in my office riddled with guilt.  I watched this same type of thing in my own family. You want to keep them at home with you, but it’s now getting dangerous and impossible.

If you, too, are in this situation, please let me give you the same advice I have given so many others.

                                                           IT’S NOT YOUR FAULT!

I know you don’t want to see them in these declining circumstances.  You don’t want to see your Mom or Dad, or husband or wife, or even son or daughter become like this. You want them to be like you remember them; full of life, active, and happy.  But they are not and you can’t change this. What can you do?

You must steel yourself to the reality of the situation.  They need professional healthcare and often times, you can’t do that at home.  Not in this case. They are going to get worse and you are going to turn into a basket case.  Sleep deprivation and exhaustion in you is going to help no one!

Using the professionals in your area, find the most appropriate residential facility for your loved one.  Select it carefully so that you are comfortable with your decision.  Then make it.

You haven’t failed.

You did what had to be done; you stepped up! The COVID situation is greatly improving.  You’ll be able to see them and you’ll finally be able to sleep again!

Please feel free to contact me to discuss your individual situation.
